Automatic Pet Vaccination Schedule Reminders with PetConnect
Never miss a vaccine date. Automatic reminders sourced from your clinic records.
Most pet apps require you to enter vaccination dates manually and track them yourself. PetConnect works differently: as soon as your clinic enters a vaccination record in the Vetigen system, that information is automatically reflected in PetConnect. Reminders are generated from actual medical records, not user estimates — no date inconsistencies, no missed doses, no outdated information.
Which vaccines are tracked
PetConnect automatically tracks the following vaccinations and preventive health applications:
- Rabies — annually or every 3 years depending on region
- Combination vaccine / DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza) — annual
- Feline leukemia (FeLV) — for cats, annual
- Bordetella (kennel cough) — for dogs in social environments
- Parasite control (internal and external) — seasonal or monthly treatment
How reminders work
When your clinic's veterinarian records a vaccination in the Vetigen SOAP module, the system automatically calculates the next due date. A push notification is sent to your PetConnect app 7 days before the due date. You don't need to set up additional reminders or track dates manually — the entire process runs automatically from the clinic record.
This works when you're connected to a clinic that uses Vetigen. As long as your clinic logs the vaccination in the system, you don't need to do anything. If the connection hasn't been set up yet, you can search for your clinic in the app and send a connection request.
Puppy and kitten primary series
Puppies and kittens require a primary vaccination series during their first months of life. This series typically starts at 6 to 8 weeks of age and consists of doses repeated every 3 to 4 weeks. PetConnect tracks this series from the clinic records; after each dose, a reminder is automatically scheduled for the next one. For adult pets, the annual booster schedule is updated automatically — even a single vaccination visit triggers the next reminder without any action from you.
External and internal parasite tracking
External parasites such as fleas and ticks, and internal parasites such as intestinal worms and heartworm, require the same consistent monitoring as vaccinations. When your clinic records a parasite prevention treatment in Vetigen, PetConnect tracks this data as well. Reminders are scheduled based on the seasonal or monthly treatment interval, so protection continues without any gaps.
Vaccination records and clinic transfers
You can view your pet's up-to-date vaccination history at any time through PetConnect. Because these records come directly from the clinic's system, they are always ready when you need a travel certificate, a boarding facility admission form, or documentation for international travel. If you switch clinics, your records remain in your PetConnect account; if your new clinic uses Vetigen and you connect to them, the historical data becomes accessible immediately.
