Veterinary Data Policy

This policy explains the special data protection measures for veterinary medical records and pet health data processed through the Vetigen platform.

Veterinary data is highly sensitive and requires special protection.

Types of veterinary data processed:

• SOAP notes, diagnoses, treatment plans, surgical records
• Pet demographic information (species, breed, age, sex)
• Pet owner contact and identification information
• Laboratory results, radiology images, pathology reports
• Prescriptions, drug dosages, and treatment protocols

Veterinary data is processed based on the following legal grounds:

• Explicit consent of the pet owner
• Performance of the veterinary service contract
• Veterinary record-keeping obligations
• Legitimate interests of the veterinary clinic

• Active Patients: Active patients: Unlimited (from last visit)
• Inactive Patients: Inactive patients: 10 years after last visit
• Deceased Animals: Deceased animals: 5 years after date of death
• Legal Requirements: If legal requirement exists: For the statutory period

Pet owners have the following rights:

• View their pets' medical records
• Request copies of records
• Transfer records to another clinic (data portability)
• Request correction of inaccurate information
