Every lab result is read from a screen and typed in by hand. Slow, error-prone, time wasted. Your most valuable resource — the veterinarian's time — is spent on data entry.
Every device operates in isolation. Results are scattered, no unified view.
Internet drops and results don't arrive. Power goes out and data goes with it.
Cortex manages every step of your diagnostic process for you.
Step 1/4
Download, pair your account, and configure devices.
Cortex supports macOS, Windows, and Linux. It runs in the background and discovers supported diagnostic devices attached to the computer or available on the clinic network. More than 50 device models are supported, including IDEXX, Heska, Mindray, and Samsung families.
Same clinic, same devices — different experience.
You read lab results from a screen and typed them in
Device produces a result, it lands in the patient record automatically
You took an X-ray but patient matching was always manual
Patient name appears on the device screen, auto-matched
Internet went down and results were lost
Works offline, syncs when connection is restored
Every computer was its own island, no sync
Multiple Cortex instances with automatic coordination
50+ verified models across a common protocol layer for laboratory and imaging devices.
Cortex writes pending results to a local queue and retries delivery when the connection returns.
Results are written to a local WAL-backed queue first. Delivery retries after temporary connection failures, and confirmed records are reconciled.
Queue payloads are encrypted with a machine-derived key; outbound requests are signed and sent over a secure connection.
Updates itself outside business hours. Automatically rolls back if anything goes wrong.
