Cortex supports 50+ laboratory and imaging device models across IDEXX, Heska, Mindray, Samsung, Zoetis/Abaxis, Sound-Eklin, Sedecal, GE, Esaote, Olympus, Karl Storz, and other families through ASTM, HL7, DICOM, and POCT1-A workflows.

Can Cortex work on multiple computers?

Yes. Cortex can run on multiple clinic computers and coordinates supported network devices while each computer continues to handle its directly connected devices.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Cortex writes pending results to an encrypted, disk-backed queue. Delivery retries automatically when the connection returns, and confirmed records are reconciled with Vetigen.

How are pending diagnostic results protected?

Cortex encrypts queue payloads with AES-256-GCM using a key derived for the clinic computer. It also validates device frames and signs outbound delivery payloads.

Can pet owners see approved results?

A clinic can make an approved diagnostic result available to the pet owner through PetConnect as part of the connected patient workflow.
